INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OFFERED BY INFY for students Selected

Duration of  the  Program

The program will be  scheduled from January/ February 2011 to  May/ June 2011 at Infosys  Mysore or any of the Infosys Development Centers . We will provide accommodation, a monthly stipend and food coupons to the interns for the duration of the internship. They will also be extended certain other  benefits like personal accident insurance etc.

Students from CS/IT/IC/ICT   branches will undergo 6 weeks of Training and  10
weeks of IT related  Project work whereas those from ECE, Electronics,
Telecommunication, and Instrumentationstudents will undergo 10 weeks of Training
and 10 weeks of IT related Project work.

Eligibility

Students who have been selected by Infosys through campus recruitment, from only the following branches are eligiblefor internship

·         BE  / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech / MCA/ MS / M.Sc  in Computer Science,Computer  Technology, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Science, Information & Communication Technology, Electronics, ECE, Telecommunication and Instrumentation
·         This program is open for onlythose students whohave been selected by Infosys through
campus recruitment
·         Students should be in their final year of studies and must have a mandatory project work component in the final semester

Prerequisites

·         Students will have to arrange  for their  travel to our campus and back to theircollege/ hometown upon completion of this program
·         This is a residential program and requires the internsto be present on our campus premises throughout the program

Infosys Training - Walkthrough

Freshers!!Scared that you are not a good programmer?? Forget it. Infosys teach you everything from Basics.

It doesn't matter whether you are from CS/IT dept or Non-CS dept, if you are sincere in the training, you can easily go through the training.

Training Session:

Timings are fixed. You have to reach the classroom sharply at 9am.Classes are divided into different sessions

9am-10.30am - Session 1

10.30am-10.45am - Tea Break

10.45am-12pm - Session 2

12pm-2pm - Lunch Break

2pm-5pm - Assignments/Handson Practice

Saturday and Sunday are holidays

I had a good conversation with an Infoscian. Regarding other companies, the training is so simple. They were not satisfied with it.  Well with Infy training, nothing (even Microsoft or IBM) can beat it. . Such a great experience you'll have. . But the risk is if you are unable to maintain your CGPA above 4.0 (out of 5, i.e., above 80% marks aggregate) you'll be smashed off. . Even if you get 3.999999999 you'll be sent home. So if you are ready to face challenges. Infy is the ultimate place for you. .

But the choice is yours. . Consult ur friends, contact the ppl working in other companies, discuss with them, analyse yourself and then make a decision. .

Exam was in two parts: 1. General Aptitude (Reasoning)
2. English

General Aptitude:

1. Figure Analogy(5 bits, very easy)
2. 5 questions on data sufficiency (very easy)
3. 5 on data interpretation (Very Tricky)

4. 2 Group reasoning Problems(Very difficult i didnt able to solve 7 out of 10 questions)

5. 5 Questions on logical linking of two given statements(easy)

6. No question on syllogism!

English:

1. 2 RCs (Easy, but do it at the last)
2. 8 choosing the correct sentence (Difficult)
3. 7 on error correction (easy)

4. 8-10 questions on Sentence completion (Very easy)
5. Theme Detection (Tricky)
